Colors - Shades of Life

colorsShraddha and V Care organized a fund raising event "COLORS - Shades of Life" on 31st October at Harihara Kala Bhavan. Many physically and visually challenged singers and dancers performed on a wonderful evening. The dancers are from Devnar blind school and few trained by choreographer Lawrence.

I have never been to this kind of events before. I got to know about this event through orkut. I was totally amazed by the performances of these physically and visually challenged people. They did what most of us are not able to do.

The event started off with a classical dance performance by Sidendra Kala Peetam.

Aditya and Sravya who are blind sung songs from Magadheera and Billa. Aditya is multi-talented. He is a singer and keyboard player. Rasheed who is also blind sung 2 folk songs. He participated in many TV shows also.  The audience went Ga-Ga over his songs.
Mahesh, who lost his body part below his waist, danced to a song from the movie Style. It was totally amazing.
You can watch the performance in the video below.

It was followed by another terrific dance performance by another physically challenged guy Jagan. Both these guys are trained by Lawrence. These guys left the audience spellbound with their outstanding performances.

A group of visually challenged people from Devnar blind school danced to the songs from Bharateeyudu, Bhool Bhulaiya.

These people are not disabled, they are differently abled.

In between these performances, many people were felicitated.

A few of them were Mr. Deva, M/s Sujata, Mr. PV Rajeswara Rao, Mr. VR Srinivas etc. Deva sells snacks, tiffins in weekdays and spend the whole sunday entirely for helping others. Sujata is physically challenged. She is a HP gas dealer.  Mr. PV Rajeswar Rao is a social worker. Mr. VR Srinivas is also physically challenged and he is an EPWD in Mahindra Satyam.

I missed out some names as I could not remember them. I wish I could have been there till the end.
